Philadelphia, PA – Locally based Connexion Healthcare, a full-service medical communication agency specializing in oncology, turned out in force in support of the 5th Annual Lemon Run to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The 5k run/walk took place in Fairmount Park on Sunday, November 10, 2013, raising more than $225,000 to fight childhood cancers.
In addition to raising funds for childhood cancer research, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation benefits children with cancer and their families by providing programs such as an annual Educational Symposium and by covering travel expenses incurred during visits to treatment centers.
More than 2,500 people participated in the run at Fairmount Park. Highlights of the day included a kids’ 100-meter dash that was held prior to the 5K run, and awards were presented to the fastest finishers in each race category by Liz Scott (Alex Scott’s mother). Top fundraising teams were also recognized.
Connexion Healthcare and its employees, through their charitable arm Connexion Cares, proudly participate in various fundraising events throughout the year. Connexion also designates a portion of their revenue to various charities. For more information please visit www.connexionhealthcare.com and www.alexslemonade.org
